Quick & Dirty Recovery Tips

Got some nagging aches and pains?

Feeling sore all the time?

Does training leave you fatigued for days on end?

Take some of these things into consideration and see how you feel!

Sleep

This is a big one. Prioritize your time and make sleep your second job. You may not realize it, but your body does a whole lot of recovering while you’re dozing off and dreaming about all of your gains. At least 7 hours of sleep in the rule of thumb, so yes, if you wake up early you might have to turn off the phone, Xbox, or Netflix a little earlier than your friends.

Nutrition

Nutrition can be fun, and it can also be intimidating. Prepping food and knowing what food your body likes the most is key, so take time to explore! Get those carbs, fats, and proteins!

Jeff Downing’s advice

Every Wednesday at 5:30pm we have an interactive session where Jeff tells us how to relieve some of those pesky cracks and pains.

Yoga/stretching

Attend a local yoga class! If group classes aren’t your thing, then Youtube is a great place to look as well. Five Parks Yoga is an awesome channel to check out, as it offers a wide variety of stretches and yoga sequences for all time restraints and abilities. Yoga before bed can also help with sleep!

Salt/ice baths

Add some Epsom salt to a hot bath and, VOILA, you have a nice, relaxing night. Add some ice to a bath to relieve some of the pesky inflammation from lifting all those weights; your body will thank you!

Supplements featured in our very own Muscle Market

We have everything from vitamins to sleep aids to natural oils and remedies. Come into the store to check it out!

Increase water intake

Sometimes a small change like this is enough to make a big difference in your life. We’re all out here trying to fly a rocket to the moon when all of us could use more water to help increase energy, hydrate, and keep things in check.
