Let’s take some time to learn about how cool Hannah Lewis is!

In Hannah’s free time, she can be found, “earning her Masters in the Arts of Teaching, student teaching, knitting, or screaming into the void :) ”

So, how did you find out about the Dirty Gym?

“I went to high school with Beef and saw her do awesome stuff on Insta. I wanted to try it, so I reached out for personal training.”

One thing Hannah knows for sure is that the DG people are some of the most supportive. When asked what her favorite memory at DG is, she says, “My fave memory at the DG was when I lowkey bailed on a bench press and the dudes I was training with in WL class convinced me to try it again. I still couldn’t lift it, but their hype for me was inspiring.”

Hannah also has a goal in her sights. What? you ask.

“Get my name on the wall for a gym WL record!”

If one thing the DG sets out to do, it is to empower and support our athletes. Hannah can contest to this, and she says, “I feel so strong and healthy, even stronger than I felt back in high school!

I have made so many amazing friends through the DG, and I am so happy that I chose this gym as my home. Also, the Lady Beefs helped me realize that I want to come back to live in Dayton after grad school so I can still train at the DG.”

Sometimes starting at a new gym can be intimidating, but no need to be scared here! Hannah shares her advice and says, “Don’t let all the big strong people scare you! They are all incredibly nice and helpful. Everyone starts somewhere, so don’t be intimidated or afraid of looking goofy while figuring out how your body works.” We’ve all been there; what great advice, Hannah!

Once you acclimate, maybe ask about joining a training group (and these can even be with other online training athletes!). Hannah recommends this, and she advises, “Find yourself a partner or team to train with for encouragement and shenanigans. Barbells have brought so many strong and amazing women together!! (So, shout-out to that ironically phallic item that we congregate around every day)”
